Suicide is a topic that often brings up more questions than answers.
In today's blog, I'll share my experiences and perspective as a Medium.
When someone chooses to end their own life, society reacts with confusion, grief, and sometimes judgment.
Why didn’t they reach out? How could they leave their family behind? They seemed fine—what happened?
From a spiritual perspective, reality is the purest form of love: compassion and understanding.
As an evidential medium, I have connected with souls who have passed on in many different ways—including those who have passed from complete suicide.
Through these experiences, I’ve gained insights that challenge common myths and offer a more loving and healing perspective.
My hope is that by sharing what I’ve learned, those grieving can find comfort in knowing that their loved ones are still with them, guiding and loving them from the other side.
Dispelling Myths About Suicide & the Afterlife
Love & Healing Await on the Other Side
Souls who have taken their own lives do not carry shame or eternal regret. Once they transition, they experience clarity—seeing their struggles from a broader perspective.
Many have shared messages of peace, love, and reassurance, wanting their families to know they are okay and still connected.
They are greeted with love from loved ones, guides, helpers, and Source/God/Universal Life Force/Collective Consciousness/Oneness. They are ambassadors to a new journey as they adjust from the physical to the spiritual realm.
I feel that there is a life review I've felt in spirit like everyone else.
I remember one young soul showing me a feeling of immense love and compassion, a connection to all things as one.
They look at their life here on earth with love, feeling whole again.
I have felt them communicate the idea of returning to earth at some point, carrying all wisdom from previous lives into a reincarnated soul.
Understanding Suicide from a Soul Perspective
Earth as a School for the Soul
From a spiritual perspective, life on Earth is a place of learning and growth.
Our experiences—the joys, the pain, the challenges—are opportunities for the soul to evolve. While some lessons are challenging, every soul’s journey is unique, and not all paths follow the same path or timeline.
The Role of Mediumship in Healing
How Mediumship Offers Comfort
For those left behind, grief can be overwhelming, especially when suicide brings unanswered questions. Mediumship offers a bridge—an opportunity to receive messages of love, reassurance, and closure from those who have passed.
A father asked, " How do I remember my son?" The same way you'd remember any other soul. It is through sharing memories, traditions (e.g., an annual fishing trip), their sense of humor, passions, and stories.
Common Messages from Souls Who’ve Passed by Suicide
Through my work, I’ve seen recurring themes in the messages from souls who ended their lives:
“I am at peace.”
"I am always with you."
"I love you."
Their messages remind us that their love remains despite their choice to leave. They are not in pain anymore, and they want those they left behind to heal and continue living.
Stories of Healing Connections
One of the most profound aspects of mediumship is witnessing the healing that happens when families receive messages from their loved ones. Hearing words of love, closure, and reassurance can be decisive in grieving.
Moving Forward with Compassion
Breaking the Stigma
Shame and blame only deepen the wounds left by suicide. Instead, we can choose understanding, support, and open conversations about mental health.
How We Can Support Those Struggling
If you know someone who is struggling, the most important thing you can do is listen without judgment. Support them in seeking help and remind them that they are not alone. Mental health challenges are not weaknesses but struggles that can be met with care and compassion.
A Call for Empathy
Just as souls are met with love and understanding on the other side, we should strive to offer the same here on Earth. Compassion and empathy create a world where fewer people feel alone in their pain.
Grief is complex, especially when suicide is involved. But if there is one message I want to leave you with, it’s this: Your loved ones are not lost. They are still with you, loving, guiding, and wanting you to heal.
If you’re struggling with loss, know that you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Healing is possible through personal reflection, spiritual connection, or mediumship.
If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, please reach out for help. You are not alone, and your life is valuable.
Resources:
Crisis Support: If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact a suicide prevention hotline in your country.
Books on Grief & Healing: Look into titles offering spiritual and emotional support for grieving people. I have read many books by Alan D. Wolfelt, Ph.D. (Understanding Your Suicide Grief), which has helped me immensely through various losses, including losing a family member to suicide.
Mediumship Sessions: If you feel called to connect with a loved one, consider seeking guidance from an experienced medium.
You are loved. You are not alone. Healing is possible.
There’s only love and compassion on the other side.
Take care,
Christie.
