The Pink Moon Is About Facing Adversity with Tenacity

Updated: Apr 26, 2021

The Pink Moon is the first super moon of the year and the second largest full moon of 2021. It may or may not be highlighted by the color pink which is meant to represent compassion, nurturing energy, and love. Plan to set yourself up to catch a good view of the beautiful moon set to present itself high in the sky shortly before midnight on Monday April 26th at 11:53pm EDT.

It gets its name the "Pink Moon" for the full Moon around this time of April, when the moss pink, or wild ground phlox, is in blossom. The name was used by the Algonquin tribe, as well as by colonial Americans.

The color pink represents compassion, nurturing and love. It relates to unconditional love and understanding, and the giving and receiving of nurturing.

Pink is feminine and romantic, affectionate, and intimate, thoughtful, and caring. It tones down the physical passion of red replacing it with a gentle loving energy.

The Emotional Meaning for the Full Super Pink Moon Is Focused on Resilience

Full moons are most notably known for their enchanting look and energy. The are also powerful influencers of change. The beaming energy that exudes from this moon also encourages a pressure for change, and you may very well be feeling the influence of a ‘tipping point’ to move forward towards a new path, a new door opening as an old phase is thankfully ending.

If you’ve been taking the time to settle in for a good walk by yourself or feeling drawn to go sit in solitude as the scales begin to tip. Allocating time to journal, revel in new goals, new paths, opportunities or even letting go of things, people, a job, and such are quite common. Out with the old and in with the new energy. Letting go and surrendering to a new way of being or living is NEVER going to be easy but incredibly enlightening and lifting as you soar into the next phase or your journey.

Sometimes full moons can lead to revelations about yourself and your life. Sometimes they present you with opportunities that you may or may not take, and sometimes, they even leave you with gifts and rewards. All you need to know is that when the moon is full, a truth is ready to be revealed, and the emotional meaning of the April 2021 full super Pink Moon might just leave you feeling transformed.

Full moons tend to shine a light on something you may not have realized before. That's because a full moon takes place when the sun — ruler of your external self — forms an opposition with the moon — ruler of your internal self. There's a side of you that no one else knows about; sometimes, not even you fully understand this side of yourself. This deeply personal layer of who you are can run counter to the image you've constructed for yourself on a material level. In other words, you don't always have the whole story.

But just imagine there are imaginary steppingstones towards that very thing you want to have in your life. Once you see, feel, and know your path is finally unfolding upon what feels right for you, a sigh of relief and lighter shoulders will follow with a heavy weight that has been weighing you down.

Each full moon exudes its own radiance and focus, bringing your awareness toward a certain aspect of your life. Each full moon also contains its own toolkit of energy, giving you something new to work with every time.

It encourages a vision for the long-term much like Simon Sinek’s book titled, The Infinite Game. Surrender to the vision of what you’re creating rather than the short game. Changes will happen and it’s important to be open to the ever-changing climate.

This is also a time to take time to be outdoors, organize the garden for new plants, flowers, which is all very grounding.

This spring pink moon, or super moon is here to encourage transformational change.

As my mother would say, “let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace.” She used to be a Sunday school teacher.

This spring is an invitation to discover the hidden potential within ourselves, speak up, engage the mind, ignite the heart and engage all opportunities that show up in the coming days, weeks, and months.

If you haven't considered any time to shift your patterns and behaviors for a long time, let this be an opportunity for you to start the process.

Look at all areas of your life or consider your relationships, current career, finances, or even

what you do day in and day out. Pick one area of focus and ask this question, is there something that you can do to show up in a better way? Be honest. What can you do to improve one area? Make some positive changes that in the end really help you evolve into a better person. I know THAT change, or simple changes WILL spill over into other areas of your life.

Your confidence, self worth, and opportunities will show up. Not all at once, but it will help.

One of my best friends and a mentor reinforced this a few years ago. It's good to always revisit what's working and not working in our lives. They said, "Stop complaining. Stop blaming. Change what's not working or take another route. Be thankful for the lessons, the experiences, and now get going. Move on."

I'll be looking at the full moon as long and as late as I can.

What do you want to change? Make a few adjustments that create a better way of being and life for you and your family. I used to be a really bad writer until one of my many mentors suggested that I start writing, and over time I got better. I really love to write. When I'm writing, I kind of get lost in the words, story, and selecting good pictures to high light the story.

Enjoy the Pink Moon. Stay Safe. Take care and Keep Going.

Much love,

Christie Flynn
